Each component is calculated and stored separately, so when a margin moves, the estimator can see which line moved it.
Fabrication and finishing
Lamination, folding, binding, die cutting and the rest of your process list — each with its own rate method (per piece, per sheet or per 1,000), setup cost, minimum charge and manpower requirement.
Press and pre-press
Every machine holds its sheet-size limits, supported GSM range, colour capability, speed, setup cost and cost per print. A 350 GSM board cannot be allocated to a press that will not feed it.
Paper and stock
Your stock list — maplitho, art paper, executive bond and the rest — across the GSM range you actually buy, from 70 up to 350. Sheet sizes from A5 to 23 × 36, each carrying vendor, purchase rate, printable area and wastage margin.

From Approved Quote to Dispatch — Eleven Stages, One Record
Once a quotation is approved, Odoo creates a job order carrying the full technical specification, and production runs through eleven tracked stages. Machine allocation, manpower, material availability, priority and delay tracking all attach to that one record.

Your Press Has a 2027 E-Invoicing Deadline — and It Starts at the Job Order
Most UAE printing presses fall under Phase 2 of the UAE e-invoicing mandate: appoint an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) by 31 March 2027 and issue electronic invoices in the PINT AE format from 1 July 2027, under Ministerial Decision No. 244 of 2025. Presses with revenue of AED 50,000,000 or more sit in Phase 1 — ASP appointed by 31 July 2026, live from 1 January 2027.
Cabinet Decision No. 106 of 2025 sets the finesAED 5,000 per month for failing to implement the e-invoicing system or appoint an Accredited Service Provider on time. AED 100 per invoice not issued electronically, capped at AED 5,000 per month. AED 1,000 per day for failing to notify the FTA of a system failure within two business days.
Your invoice is not a standalone document — it is raised from a job order carrying a paper specification, a partial delivery and an advance payment. If those live in three systems, e-invoicing becomes a re-entry exercise. If they live in one, it becomes an integration, and we build it vendor-neutrally: your Odoo instance to your chosen ASP, with no lock-in to ours.

The price for the scoped build is fixed and quoted before any work begins — typically between AED 5,000 and AED 50,000 depending on the number of machines, product categories and fabrication processes configured.

Odoo Enterprise, configured with a printing estimation module and a machine master, covers what a print MIS covers — estimation, job orders, production scheduling, material consumption, wastage, quality and job costing — and adds the accounting, inventory and CRM that a standalone MIS usually sits beside rather than replaces.
The estimation module calculates each cost component separately — paper, printing, plate, fabrication, finishing, manpower, setup, wastage, packing, transportation and overhead — then applies margin and tax. Inputs are the paper quality, GSM, sheet size, printing size, quantity, colour type, colour quality and the selected fabrication and finishing processes.
Yes. Each machine record holds maximum and minimum sheet size, supported GSM range, supported colour type, printing speed, setup cost and cost per print. Job allocation checks the job's product category, sheet size, printing size, quantity, colour type and GSM against those limits before a press is assigned.
Yes. Every job order carries estimated cost, planned cost and actual cost. Actual cost accumulates material, labour, machine, subcontracting, wastage, packing and transport as they are consumed, so the margin on a completed job is a reported figure rather than a month-end estimate.
